I Am Spoiled.

I should start a blog.. Everybody is doing it, right?

Man this is taking me back to my 'xanga' days. You guys remember xanga? I thought it was the bees knees. then I discovered myspace... then facebook. Oh how times change.

You know what is fun? Being a mom. Boy oh boy do I love my little lad. Honestly I am spoiled. SPOILED ROTTEN. You know why? Because Shamblin James is possibly the best baby in the world.. yeah yeah I know what you are thinking.. Every mom thinks her baby is the best NO.
seriously guys I don't say that just because I love him but I seriously think God decided to spoil me. I think I can count on one hand the number of 'bad nights' I have had with him. And honestly those weren't even that bad. He has always been happy, laid back, and a wonderful sleeper.

My husband and I decided we would start sleep training this Sunday after we got back from our little family vacation at the lake.
Then we kind of started sleep training last night on accident. Who does that right? While I was cooking dinner my wonderful husband was rocking the baby trying to get him to go to sleep. We had already finished the night routine..bath time.. lotion town.. vitamin giving.. lots of hugs and kisses because we feel bad about squirting that nasty poly-vi-sol down his throat.. pajamas.. book.. song and some eats time.
Well for some reason he was not having it. He was crying his poor little heart out. So after I made dinner I switched off with Paul and tried to rock him to sleep.. still nothing. Poor little guy was so tired but just didn't want to fall asleep.
I figured it was just going to be a long night so i decided to lay him back in his crib and go shovel dinner down and then return to the rocking and the singing and the soothing of my poor distraught son.

As I was eating as fast as I could something funny happened..  he stopped crying.
What the what?
So I finished eating and decided to go check in on him.. There he was just staring up at his mobile. Totally enjoying the light show.
Well that's nice.. that mobile turns off automatically after a while so we shall see how long this lasts.
about forty minutes later I go back in and the mobile is off and I can see that he is playing with his feet. I love it when he does that.. so cute.
So another forty minutes later he is fast asleep. Seriously?! Could it really be that easy?
No its not.. usually.. but I am spoiled.
